Julie & Julia: ‘Bon appétit!’

By Sama Team | July 29, 2009

For our first post in the 'Bon vivant' Category, we wanted to honor one of the many epicurean pleasures a 'bon vivant' enjoys. Food, that it. Food in a movie. "Julie & Julia" is an upcoming 2009 comedy-drama film, written and directed by Nora Ephron, depicting events in the life of famed chef Julia Child.

Based on two bestselling memoirs: Powell's Julie & Julia and My Life in France, by Julia Child with Alex Prud'homme, "Julie & Julia" intertwines the lives of two women, Julia Child (Meryl Streep) and Julie Powell (Amy Adams), who are both at loose ends, until they discover the joys of cooking. When cooking makes everything possible...

We love the idea and we can't wait to see this movie with the great Meryl Streep. The film is scheduled for August 7, 2009 release. A sole meunière with purée anyone?

I enver heard of this movie before but it’s about french cuisine so I hope it will be funny. Moreover, it’s with Meryl Streep :)

I agree with Arnold, a movie about french food made by non-french might be very funny.

French food is the best in the world along with Japanese food and many others. The movie is about a writer who lived in France and cooked, we will see how France is depicted in the film.
