Saji Magazine: food, art, fashion and recipes

By Sama Team | February 5, 2010

If you are a regular reader of The Sama Gazette (aka a Sama-Reader), then you probably already know the Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society.  It has been a while since we first mentioned it on the Gazette and many of you are very interested in the idea of a Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society. We also are. And we are working on it, as the information already leaked from a careless but still beloved Sama Team member (it starts with an 'L'...).   A few days ago, Max Danashowed us a new book (it actually is an over-sized hard bound format magazine) and said: 'Saji perfectly illustrates what is the Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society'. We were very intrigued by Max's enthusiasm, and as we looked at the cover with 'Bon appétit' written on  the colorful illustration, we opened it and realized why Saji was indeed a very unique magazine... Food, art, fashion and recipes; illustrations are great and photography is amazing!   The magazine’s editor is Miho, she is also a food photographer, and we can learn more about Saji from Saji Website ('About Saji' section):

'Once upon a time there was a very fashionable and pretty girl. She was so busy shopping for new clothes, polishing her nails and dancing at night clubs that she had no time to even think of eating [...] Then one day, to her surprise, she fell sick. “It’s because of the things you eat,” her doctor said to her. “What you eat today is what you will be 10 years from now, my dear girl.” “What am I going to do?” The girl felt hopelessly lost. That was when she met saji. “Don’t worry, my dear.” With a wave of saji’s magic wand, recipes appeared in front of her. Cutting, mixing or baking, she simply followed the recipe. “Oh my, it’s a piece of cake!” She started to have fun cooking on her own. “Voila!” She wore a big smile, satisfied with the prettily garnished dish she had just prepared [...] After that the girl fell in love with food as much as she had been in love with dresses or doing her nails.'

Nice story, isn't it? We all agree Saji Magazine is a great example of The Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society, both epicurean and creative, and it deserves to be part of it, that's why we decided to talk to you about it. Meanwhile, we invite you to visit Saji Website and check the Link section to find retailers and online stores to buy Saji Magazine Issue 3.

From the cover, this magazine looks great! I visited Saji site but there is not a lot of information about the magazine itself.

I support the creation of the Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society! :P

I love the story:

Once upon a time there was a very fashionable and pretty girl. She was so busy shopping for new clothes, polishing her nails and dancing at night clubs that she had no time to even think of eating

And the:

he met saji. “Don’t worry, my dear.” With a wave of saji’s magic wand, recipes appeared in front of her. Cutting, mixing or baking, she simply followed the recipe. “Oh my, it’s a piece of cake!”

This Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society will be huge I’m sure.

By the way, don’t blame Louis about what he told us, we tortured him (it was Meddi who did most of it!) :P

No I didn’t tortured him! 2 beers were enough to make him talk. And he told us a lot about Max’s projets. But we won’t tell, never!

Saji should be invited to the Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society and also Wendy Brandes. She is a Sama Reader and she has an amazing personality. She comments once in a while and we all appreciate her here. IMO ;)

The Sama Epicurean Fraternal Society is an amazing idea and Juliette is right, Wendy Brandes should be part of it :)

As for what Meddi and Jb know, I think they know more than us but not everything. They wish but they don’t Jajaja
