Sauteed button mushrooms with shallots, herbs

For mushrooms lovers only.

By Sama Team | December 1, 2011

New recipe! And we hope you like mushrooms. This is a vegan recipe by Harini, a.k.a Sunshinemom. Her blog Tongue Ticklers is great for finding vegan recipes and even if you are not (vegan), these recipes can satisfy anyone.

Harini always explains what she does and why she does it:

In today’s dish I haven’t done much to mask the mushrooms.  Instead I chose to flaunt them.  I believe that when you treat your vegetables with respect, they taste best.   Here they are paired them with shallots or sambar onions.  Shallots belong to the same family as onions but belong to another species.  They are sweeter, and cook faster which makes them ideal to be paired with mushrooms.  While cooking shallots one needs to be careful not to leave them unattended.  They go very quickly from sweetly caramalized to bitterly burnt.  Take care.  I added rosemary stalks because they were available, and they work well.

You can read the rest of the recipe on this page. Since we try the recipes we select, we can tell you these mushrooms are excellent! The recipe is not hard and the result is awesome. And we are not very good cooks, to say the least.

Try it!
