The return of Burn Notice, Dark Blue, True Blood, Mad Men

By Sama Team | August 18, 2010

Everyone we know enjoys watching TV shows. Whether they are American, French or Indian, there are so many different genres and so many different stories, everyone can find its favorite(s). Max Dana has found hers. Burn Notice, Dark Blue, True Blood and Mad Men but also several others she likes to watch. This is Max's latest blog entry, and we agree, Burn Notice is far better than Leverage!

"
I really enjoy watching TV shows. Unfortunately, Ugly Betty, 24, Lost and Heroes are no more. Not to mention Bryan Fuller’s whimsical Pushing Daisies! So what is left to watch this Summer? Luckily, several of my favorite shows. Burn Notice is on my top list, I already wrote about the show: Burn Notice Vs Leverage? I’d better get burned!. If I don’t like Leverage that much, Dark Blue is definitely among my favorite shows. But my two favorites are True Blood and Mad Men. Totally different stories and times, but each one knows how to entertain. Where do Sookie super powers come from? Will Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce find prosperity eventually? There is also the new season of Entourage; I couldn’t not mention Vincent, his flick, Ari…

I’m eager to watch Dexter’s new season (Dexter and The Shield: bad is good) as well as Curb Your Enthusiasm: Pretty, pretty, pretty good! and The Big Bang Theory: Am I really that kind of Nerd?. When I wrote Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Nip/Tuck, House M.D… Addicted!, most of the shows I mentioned were still airing; since then Lost, Battlestar Galactica and Nip/Tuck are no more. But my top five list won’t be complete without Sons of Anarchyfrom Kurt Sutter, writer/producer of The Shield. If you enjoyed watching The Shield as much as I did, then you have to see Sons of Anarchy. I hope next season will be as good as the previous ones.

If my preference goes to films noir and science-fiction movies, I’m too often disappointed by the movies I see. I could mention a dozen, critically and publicly acclaimed films, I had to fight with myself to watch until the end. TV shows are often better than films because you don’t spend minutes on details, action is there, almost every second. There are movies you have to take time to watch to fully appreciate every moment, they are very rare. Most of the movies I’ve been watching lately are just filling the story with meaningless (action) scenes and the ending is easy to guess; a total spoil and a waste of time. No wonder why more and more people prefer watching TV shows in their living room rather than going to theaters…

Anyway. If you have enough money, you can get a walk on role in some of these TV shows. Charity Buzz is listing their Hottest Summer Auctions you would love to bid on. Enjoy a Walk On Role in the HBO Hit Series, “Curb Your Enthusiasm“!, Current Bid: $8,000.00. Featured Extra Walk-On Role on HBO’s Hit Series, TRUE BLOOD, Current Bid: $11,500.00. Win a Walk-On Role in HBO’s Hit Show, Entourage, Current Bid: $4,000.00. And also: Meet Emmy-Award Winner Alec Baldwin on the Set of 30 Rock! Valid for Four People, $3,250.00. And Tour the Set of The Office and Watch a Scene Being Filmed in the Green Room, Current Bid: $2,050.00. If you’re interested, be quick, lots close on Wed, 18 Aug 2010.

Too bad it’s too late to bid on a walk on role in Seinfeld is back (kind of…): Giddyup!

We are watching Burn Notice with Arnold, it is now on French television (M6) and I enjoy it a lot! I have also watched Sons of Anarchy but I didn’t like it so much. That’s funny to imagine Max watching those shows :)

I vote for SOA and The Shield. I also agree with Max when she says Tv shows are often better than films, I think it’s more and more often I get bored watching a movie. Me too I wish movies were as good as Tv shows…

I would love to watch television with Max Dana, I’m serious! :) She knows a lot about television shows and I don’t so much I’m sure she knows jokes about her favorite shows. I watched Curb your enthusiasm a few months ago and I loved it. I wish I lived in the US to watch the shows when they air and not have to wait for months or years to see them in Belgium…

Hello Marcheline, I hope you’ll win ;)
