Since the independence of South Sudan and the killings in South Kordofan, the plight in Darfur has been neglected by many but it shouldn't have. The protection of civilians remains unattainable as violent attacks against civilians, blockades of humanitarian access, systematic rape, brutal arrests and torture continue in Darfur.
You can join the Sudan Now campaign, activists and Sudanese around the world in a 24-hour-long Hunger Strike For Darfur and demand that urgent action be taken. Starts on noon July 22nd and ends at noon July 23rd. To participate, you can register on this page or RSVP on Facebook. Be 1 of 10,000 participants and demonstrate to government leaders that Darfur is a priority.
We have decided to participate and will fast for a day to support Darfur. It maybe only symbolic but we think it is important we don't forget Darfur and Darfuris, and we hope that fasting will bring attention to the region. If you want to join us and participate in the global hunger strike, register on FastDarfur.org and let us know!

I think it’s important to support the Darfuris but I don’t think this hunger strike will change anything.
Darfur is a lost cause I’m afraid…. Al Bashir’s army is doing what it wants, on any place it wants in Sudan. In Darfur but also in the Nuba Mountains and in South Kordofan…. Nobody can stop him or his supporters. What will be his next target? South Sudan??
I will not eat tomorrow, you can count on me! Like it is said in this post it may be a symbolic act only but me too I think it’s today more important than ever than we support the people from Darfur.
I still wonder why we are bombing Gaddafi and not Al Bashir
