Join Raised Voices and Women for Women UK tomorrow!

By Sama Team | August 11, 2010

Raised Voices, a choir of men and women with a fantastic repertoire of political songs will be singing in Central London and Women for Women International UK would love to see you there on Thu 12 August! The choir, which frequently performs at political and cultural events will be there from 6.30 pm, joined by staff from Women for Women International UK.

About Raised Voices:

Raised Voices is a London-based political choir of women and men. We sing a continually developing repertoire of left, environmental, anti-war, feminist, internationalist, anti-racist and other political songs, including songs from other cultures. We sing for many causes and also our own enjoyment. The choir is run as a co-operative, with shared responsibility and decision making and no single leader. We don’t audition, and are open to singers of all abilities. Frequent performances: at political and cultural events, benefits, demonstrations, busking.

If you live in London, you can come along and hear a wide range of songs in support of Women for Women International UK, including songs about women and anti-war songs at the Edith Cavell statue, which is on St Martin's Place just opposite the National Portrait Gallery, WC2. More information on Women for Women UK Facebook page.

Singing for peace is always a good thing. Although I think the lyrics of I sing for Palestine are to strong… “The nightmare and the crime The world has blood upon its hands The blood of Palestine”
