Twitter Sunday: Favorites Tweets @EnoughProject

By Sama Team | November 1, 2009

It's Sunday on the Sama Gazette News Website, it's time for Twitter Sunday! Today we decided to get serious. After sharing our Favorites Tweets from Diablo Cody, Moby, Wired, David Lynch and FecalFace, we selected for you the tweets posted by Enough Project.

You may already know Enough Project if you read the Sama Gazette, we mentioned them several times on our articles: RAISE Hope for Congo: Activism you can wear and The (new) blood diamonds: it ain’t a movie… If you never heard of the organization before, here is the About Us description taken from the Enough Project Website:

The Enough Project is helping to build a permanent constituency to prevent genocide and crimes against humanity. Too often, the United States and the larger international community have taken a wait-and-see approach to crimes against humanity. This is unconscionable. Genocide and war crimes are not inevitable, and we at Enough want to create noise and action both to stop ongoing atrocities and to prevent their recurrence. Our mission is to help people from every walk of life understand the practical actions they can take to make a difference [...]

This is serious stuff here...

Twitter is not only entertaining, it is also an excellent place to stay connected with what is happening in the world, and the Enough Project Tweets will give you information about what they do with interesting links to follow. And we hope you'll start following them too.

Great idea to promote Enough Project on Twitter. I read their tweets since the article the Sama Team published about the blood diamonds. They work hard and need the support of everyone.

But they never answer to the comments posted on their blog, that’s too bad…

I can’t access the last link… What kind of music did they listen to? Rock? Rap? Country music?

I am a little bit of subject but why is it always the U.S. policy solely capable of solving problems? Why European countries don’t work together? Why do we always need the U.S to come and do something?

Like I said before, I love America but each time I read something like that, I feel like we are all needy and only the U.S can save us. I feel like an inferiority complex and it’s not justified.

I agree with John Prendergast but everyone only sees his own interest here. I’m not sure this new policy is going to change anything IMHO.

There are many petitions ‘stop the killing in congo’ I signed many of them and I still want to believe it will change the situation in my country. Like Max Dana said, we have to believe and support people of good will and do something by ourself for the good of everyone.

Very interesting tweets.

Woman (and children) are easy targets because men are weak.

I really mean it!

So many efforts and so much money to stop wars, rapes, violence. It’s really depressing.

If the president and other cabinet officials fail to follow up on Monday’s announcement with the necessary action—bilateral meetings with key countries and aggressive diplomacy at the U.N. to rally support for this approach—Sudan will continue to burn.

So what’s now? And in 2 months ahead?

Arnold I also agree with you, you pointed out something many Europeans think. The United States should work with the other countries instead of doing everything on their own. And that’s maybe why sometimes they take bad decisions like invading Irak for oil. The death toll is catastrophic…

European here too. But Italy is a mess with Berlusconi so I’m not proud of my country right now. But we should all work together, that’s true!

You are sometimes, yes.

But you don’t kill women nor children, it’s not the same weakness.

Why do men always need to fight? We should modify men genes and everything would be fine!

You are too funny Juliette. I don’t think this is the solution but it would surely change many things in this world of war
