Bob Dylan, you say? Where is your ID?

By Sama Team | August 19, 2009

The news was posted last week on CNN: Bob Dylan a complete unknown in New Jersey town and I was stunned when I read it. How comes someone still doesn't recognize Bob Dylan? The story: 'The rock legend was stopped in July by police in Long Branch, New Jersey [...] Officer Kristie Buble, 24, approached Dylan and asked him for his name...' Seriously, Kristie?   A few minutes later, everything went back to normal in Long Branch, New Jersey. Dylan proved who he was by getting ID from tour bus... Dylan is a legend and he is currently on a national tour. So please officers, next time you get a call because Dylan is peering into a window of a house that is for sale, please don't treat him like a complete unknown. It's Bob Dylan, for Pete's sake!

Welcome on board Hoxor! :)

Well I’m not a huge Dylan fan but this is very funny to imagine a young officer (because that Kristie must be in her twenties) looking at him like he is a complete stranger, a complete unknown. But he is big, even I would have recognized him at first sight! :P

Sorry guys but seriously, just because he’s Bob Dylan doesn’t mean everyone knows him…….. He’s old ya know. Timeless music but still old…. Don’t blame the poor Kristie

I don’t blame the police officer. I’m familiar with his songs but I had no idea what he looked like before I saw a recent pic of him. I would be unable to recognize him in the street. So Arnold, you have got a memory for faces since I guess you don’t see him in the street every morning :)

He was hanging around, he looks old and had no id. If I were a cop I would have done the same, ask for his id. Not a big news but still funny

Right, the cop was just doing her job.

-> Not a big news but still funny = that’s the purpose of this Bistro news I guess ;)

Yes, I have a huge memory for faces. But I have no credit for that, I see Bob Dylan every morning at the bakery

Dylan is looking very old now, older than his real age… Betty, are you sure it was really him? ;)

I have to agree, he really looks older on the pic I saw. But his music is still good so it doesn’t really matter, does it?

Mark, yes, I’m sure. I was with my Mom and I took a photo of her and Dylan with my phone. No doubt it was him :)
