France win World Championships to reach London 2012

France made handball history on last Sunday as France became World Champions in Men’s Handball World Championship, 2011! We are not really into handball but most of us watched the match and we have to say we are proud of the French handball team. Unlike the French football team, handball players are humble and we didn’t hear (as of today) of any sex scandal involving a minor prostitute…

Here is the article published on BBC website:

France became the first nation in 37 years to retain the men’s world handball title with a thrilling 37-35 victory over Denmark in Malmo. The narrow victory saw them become the second nation, behind hosts Britain, to qualify for the men’s Olympic handball event at the London Games […] Normal time failed to separate the French and Danish teams, who finished their allotted 60 minutes tied at 31-31. But France pulled two goals clear in the first period of extra time in a victory powered by Serbian-born Nikola Karabatic, who contributed 10 goals…

The French, already Olympic, European and reigning world champions, became the first national squad to win four consecutive major titles in the sport. The handball team and the players are getting a lot of media exposure right now and they totally deserve it. We wanted to share with you our enthusiasm! 🙂
