Art in Spain with artist Jaime Hayon

Almost two years ago, on the occasion of the Dunny Series 2009 release, we posted about the first time we saw a vinyl toy, that was when Max Dana showed us one of the many toys she collects from spanish designer Jaime Hayon.

Since then, we’re totally hooked! We like a lot what Hayon does and we think it was time to dedicate a post to him and his inspired and creative work, from vinyl toys to sofas and chairs, and ultra design Art Deco style bathrooms…

From his bio on his website:

Jaime Hayón Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. As a teenager, he submerged himself in skateboard culture and graffiti art, the foundation of the detailed, bold-yet-whimsical imagery so imminent in his work today (…) He has won numerous awards including ‘Best Installation’ (Icon Magazine), ‘Breakthrough Creator’ (Wallpaper Magazine) and the 2006 Elle Deco International Award. In 2008, Jaime was guest of honor at Belgium’s Interieur Biennial, the youngest person ever to receive the accolade…

Below is Jaime Hayon’s most recent design: FAVN for Fritz Hansen.
