Seahawks ‘Omega Beach/Keep On Growing’ on June 14

We like a lot artist Pete Fowler, we already mentioned him several times on the Sama Gazette: Twitter Sunday: Favorites Tweets @themonsterist and French Cheese: Camembert, Brie, Roquefort, Chevre… If you follow the work and projects of the artist, then maybe you have heard about Pete Fowler and Jon Tye‘s music project: Seahawks.

So here is the news: the Seahawks 12″ Omega Beach/Keep On Growing is due on June 14th and it is already available to pre order online through Rough Trade. It features the amazing artwork of Pete Fowler in full colour along with a hand printed sleeve. But beware: it is limited to just 250 copies and it will not be available as a download. More information about the project and the music below!

About Seahawks (read more here):

Seahawks have been on the waves since 2009, cooking up their catches, beach combing for discarded, unwanted and buried treasures. Sometimes too covered in thick tar for most to notice. Psychedelic yacht rock, hazy beach pop vibrations and  marina drone are all ports of call. The Seahawks charts are drawn by Jon Tye and Pete Fowler.

Also read on Bunkland’s blog:

Seahawks are better known for their amalgam of cosmic synth, yacht rock, beach pop and deck shoe gaze but in ‘Tender Abyss’ they deliver a new age/deep listening mini opus – 18 minutes of fluttering moogs, pulsing synth, sun fried guitars and celestial banjo. Continuing the nautical theme that can be found in many of their works, here Seahawks explore the depths of the ocean, taking you on an underwater trip that could you leave you seriously but pleasantly disorientated.

If you are eager to listen to Seahawks music, you can order Astral Winds/High Tides and Tender Abyss on Rough Trade and you will find more information on this page. We made our selection and our favorite tracks are: ‘High Seas Drifter’, ‘Ventura Highway-America’, ‘Sun Trails’ and ‘When the Morning Comes’. Check Seahawks website and tell us what are your favorite tracks!
