Dailymotion is the French equivalent to Youtube, and it was launched 4 years ago. The site has 60 million users, 1 billion videos viewed a month, and it is offering both amateur and professional content, with contextual advertising. Like on Youtube, you can watch serious video as well as more weird video. The site is independant, but will it stay this way?

Many questions are raising since the organism of the French State: FSI (Fonds Strategique d’investissement) just invested €7.5 million into Dailymotion. Will Dailymotion stay independant from the politics? Will there be some kind of filter applied to the content? Let’s not get paranoid but just be aware. We want the services provided by Dailymotion not be biased. We will see.
