Skoota portable electric scooter by Stuart Emmerson

Last year we published several posts about unicycles. At that time, we wished we could all use one to go to work until we realized the cold and snowy weather would not let us do so. In August, we started the ‘Unicycle Series of Posts’ with the eniCycle: eniCycle: electric unicycle for lazy circus clowns; in September, we followed with the YikeBike: YikeBike: high wheel bicycle of the 21st century, and in October, we introduced you to the Honda U3-XHonda U3-X: motorised unicycle from Japan.

In the hope the sun will soon shine again, we decide to restart posting about unicycles and alike. So today we will talk about a portable electric scooter: the Skoota by Monash University student Stuart Emmerson (visit website). This environmentally-conscious and fully electric inner urban transportation uses the latest Super Charging Lithium Ion technologies (it also harnesses solar power) and is made from powder coated die-cast aircraft grade aluminum with an in-wheel motor. The ‘K’ shape clean and simple design is very attractive and it looks like the ‘scooter’ version of the YikeBike.

Skoota only weights about 20 kg, it comes with an LED blue halo headlight and it’s ideal for short distances. It may be our new favorite scooter so far. What about you?
