Become a Citizen Ambassador for the United Nations!

The United NationsCitizen Ambassador to the UN” video contest encourages world citizens to voice their opinions to Heads of State and Government and weigh in on the decisions made by the member states of the United Nations. The 2010 Citizen Ambassadors video contest is organized by the Department of Public Information in partnership with YouTube, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Foundation, French broadcaster TV5Monde and with kind support from Flip Video.

From the press release:

This year, the Citizen Ambassadors contest will take place from 23 June to 23 August 2010 and will be oriented toward the theme of the Millennium Development Goals. The aspiring Citizen Ambassadors will have to express their points of view and to bring their personal experiences and suggestions on how to achieve those goals. The results will be announced during the MDG summit in New York, namely 23 September. This will be the opportunity for the six winners to see their messages being part of the global reflection on the Millennium Goals, before coming in person at the United Nations Headquarters for the UN day, on 23 October 2010.

If you want to participate, visit Become a UN Citizen Ambassador! official site. You can also check the Facebook page or follow the campaign on Twitter.
